Important information for students arriving in the UK

Do you need to prove your age?

Your BRP card should not be used as ID for proving your age as it is a very important and expensive document.

If you would like an official photo ID card to prove you are over 18, you can sign up for a Validate UK card.

Validate UK cards can cost as little as £15, which is a lot less than it costs to replace your BRP if you lose it!

If you would like to find out more information please visit the Validate UK website. If you need help Student Services can help you apply.

To apply you will need your passport, a photocopy of your passport and 2 passport sized photographs.

We will help you complete an application form and complete the documents you need to apply. We will act as your referee.

You can then decide how you quickly you want your card and pay via your on-line banking.

For 10 working days, this costs £15

For 5 working days, this costs £25

(For guaranteed next day, you will need to call Validate UK seperately for cost details)

Finally, you will need to post everything to Validate UK and then wait for your card!
