An exciting and growing collection of contemporary authors’ manuscripts, correspondence and related literary material of major significance to the international research community. The initiative builds on the University’s international reputation for creative writing, the status of Norwich as a UNESCO City of Literature, and UEA’s strong links with writers of world renown through its international literary festivals and the presence of the British Centre for Literary Translation and the emerging National Centre for Writing which will be based in Norwich. 

NEWS: We are delighted to announce a forthcoming event on 30 April 2017 to celebrate the legacy of Roger Deakin hosted by The British Archive for Contemporary Writing and The Writers' Centre Norwich. Roger Deakin: Exploring the Archive is an afternoon of talks on rivers and woodland and includes Katharine Norbury and Terence Blacker.
