One in four UEA commuter journeys are undertaken by bus so we work closely with local transport companies to improve the quality and reliability of services for staff and students, including negotiating the lowest priced annual season ticket available to any university in the UK. First buses and konectbus provide the main services to campus. Details of key services to UEA including Park & Ride can be found in this timetable.
NEW (May 2016): Train commute discounts
The University all works in partnership with Abellio Greater Anglia to provide discounts for staff and students who regularly travel by train whether it is to commute to University or to explore the area. Please see the guide to discounts including how to apply for a ticket.
Coming soon (August 2016): new bus stops
The University, supported by the successful ‘Better Bus Area’ bid awarded to Norwich, will be improving the bus infrastructure at the main bus stops. The University Drive stops will have the biggest overhaul, with Chancellors Drive also being upgraded.
The new waiting areas will provide cover while also creating an attractive and interesting environment, and real time information will be available at stops and in the centre of campus.
The main bus stop, University Drive will be closed from Monday 1 August 2016 to enable the construction of the improved waiting area.Passengers for First Bus Services 25 & 26 and National Express Coaches should use Bus Stop B (next stop up towards Bluebell Road). Works are expected to last for 6 weeks. Please note that National Express passengers are only affected on the weekends up until September when the pick up point will revert to Chancellors Drive at all times.
National Express provide coach services to London (service 490) and all major airports (service 727) with a pick up/set down point located in the lay-by outside the ZICER building. Visit the National Express website for further information.
The campus is also served by Megabus.com. who operate low cost inter city travel from UEA to London, Cambridge, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and on to Europe. Tickets start from £1.00 one-way and you can book on-line from the megabus website.
