What's a Conversation Club Volunteer

The Conversation Club is designed for international students to practise their English in a relaxed and information environment. In addition to practising their English, it also provides a great social opportunity and a way to learn more about the UK and the British culture.

The Club is run by two student Coordinators who organise the weekly sessions, however they need volunteers to help on the night to run the sessions.

The Club meets every Tuesday 7-9 pm during term time for discussion groups and social activities. There are normally conversation topics prepared for small discussion groups. There are also board game nights, potlucks, and barbecues organised. So it’s, mainly two hours of socialising and engaging with others. Your main role will be to introduce everyone to each other and help them get talking and to ensure that everyone is having a great time and they are engaged in the activities.

Get Involved

If you are interested in volunteering for the Conversation Club you can either email or arrive at 6.30pm on the night and meet the Conversation Club Coordinators.

You do not need to commit to volunteering every week, although you can, but you will need to make a regular commitment.

You can find out more about the Conversation Club on our webpage.
