What happens in your Student Success appointment
Your first appointment with an adviser is a one-to-one meeting to discuss your goals and how to develop your skills in order to achieve those goals. Your meeting will be focused on you and what you want to achieve and gain from the programme and your meetings with your adviser. You can explore new skills, barriers you have, areas of personal development, or look at what you want to achieve and how to achieve it. Always focusing on how to improve you and achieve success.
However, you can go to your adviser with any problem, question or concern. For further help the adviser will be able to make referrals and connect you to the appropriate resource or office on campus.
After your first or second appointment you should have a plan of action to help you take positive steps towards your goals. Your other appointments with your adviser will track your progress, keep you motivated and evaluate your action plan and goals to continue your development.
