The International Arrival Days are for new international students to arrive at UEA whose course starts on 21 September, unless your school has informed you otherwise. All new international students will need to attend on the Arrival Days to complete the registration process. If you are living in UEA accommodation, you will be able to collect your keys, sign your contract, and we will help you get to your room with your luggage. We will also have information and details about what is happening over the next few days, as well as information to help you settle into a new city and country.
International students arrive a few days before other students. These few days will give you time to settle in, time to get anything you need, and get involved in the International Student Orientation and Discovery Week. This time will help make the transition to the UK and UEA as easy as possible before everything gets busy. This does mean that campus will be quiet for a few days and your hall of residence may feel empty. You might even be the only student in your flat, however this will change over the weekend. So enjoy the time to get familiar with life in the UK.
Arriving Late at UEA
If you will arrive late on the Arrival Days, we would recommended that you book a hotel room for the night and arrive on campus the following day. However, if you arrive on campus after 24.00, please go to the Security Lodge where you can collect your room key. The Security Lodge is open 24 hours a day.
Arriving at other Times of the Year
We appreciate that not everyone can or is required to arrive on the Arrival Days. If you are unable to arrive on the Arrival Days and are living in UEA accommodation, you will need to arrive on campus between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday-Friday, and report to the Accommodation Office to obtain the keys for your room. If you will be arriving outside of these hours you will need to arrange your own accommodation, by booking a room in a local Bed and Breakfast (B&B) or hotel, until the Accommodation Office opens again. You can find more visitor accommodation information online. If you do arrive on campus in the middle of the night and you have no place to stay, go to the Security Lodge and they will do their best to help you.
