General Advice General Advice

Advisers in Student Services offer a confidential and non-judgemental service where you are free to discuss anything that is impacting on your ability to be the most successful student you can be. We work closely and liaise with other services such as the Wellbeing Advisers (Mental Health), CounsellorsWellbeing Advisers (Disability), Finance and Learning Enhancement Teams. We also liaise with other University departments including the Learning and Teaching Service (LTS).

Advisers are available to signpost, refer, advise or just discuss your concerns.

Appointments are usually up to 30 minutes and are available every day.  Appointments are available both morning and afternoons. In most cases we will be able to offer you an appointment within two working days. In an emergency we aim to see people on the same day.

Please note, we are not mental health professionals or counsellors, but we can give you the opportunity to discuss your concerns with us. The Advisers will explore next steps with you, which may include referral to another service within Student Services.
