Dear Researcher,

Congratulations on your new post and may we offer you a warm welcome to the University of East Anglia. RSConnect is here to support you with training and career development during your time at UEA. We work closely with Vitae, a national organisation funded by The Careers Research and Advisory Centre (CRAC) and the Research Councils UK (RCUK).

Closer to home, we are guided by research staff who are part of the Skills Development Steering Group. The Steering Group reports to the Research Staff Working Group, chaired by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, Enterprise and Engagement. The UEA is committed to implementing the 7 principles of the Concordat to support the career development of researchers, and this has been embodied in our Research Staff Code.

There are lots of training and networking opportunities for Research Staff at the UEA, many provided through the Centre for Staff and Educational Development (CSED) programme. A copy of the latest programme can be found online here. If you have any ideas for training, feedback or just want to get in touch, we would be delighted to hear from you. Links to all of the internal and external sources of support for research staff, plus up-to-date information relevant to researcher development at the UEA can be found throughout these pages.

If you would like further guidance or help, we recommend that you attend a one-to-one induction session for new research staff. Please email us at rsconnect@uea.ac.uk to arrange this.

With best regards,

Centre for Staff and Educational Development
