Innovation and Impact Awards 2020 Winners Announced
Winners of the Innovation and Impact Awards 2020 were announced on Thursday 6 February during a gala ceremony at the Sainsbury Centre, hosted by Karen Jones, Chancellor.
These awards celebrate both students and staff who display a strong commitment to innovation and impact, as well as recognising the ongoing collaborations between UEA and external organisations. The awards ceremony was attended by finalists and their guests, UEA staff and external collaborators. Guests enjoyed a sumptuous three-course meal as well as networking drinks before the awards were presented by local businesses and organisations who frequently collaborate with UEA.
A keynote speech was delivered by Prof Ben Garrod, UEA professor and award-winning broadcaster. Ben delivered an entertaining and illuminating talk, touching on his experiences witnessing innovative research in the chimp world before moving on to highlight the breadth of research here at UEA.
The evening was a great success and provided an excellent opportunity to highlight the incredible work that goes on at UEA beyond academia.

Each finalist received a trophy as well as certificates for those involved. The winner of each category also receiving funding towards their project to help further its impact potential.
