Women of the Future Conference inspires next generation Women of the Future Conference inspires next generation

‘Women of the Future’ is an annual event to inspire the next generation of female STEMM professionals. Founded in 2015 by ResNet committee members, we are proud to continue to support this high-profile event, held at the John Innes Centre each November.

At the 2017 event, keynote Speaker Dr Emily Grossman, an internationally acclaimed science author, public speaker and TV personality talked engagingly about the need for scientists to be more diverse and the value of emotions in science and society. Past speakers include Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, space scientist and BBC presenter, Dr Helen Czerski, Physicist, oceanographer and broadcaster and popular science communicator and BAFTA winning TV presenter, Maddie Moate.

This unique event for over 200 Year 10 girls brings together women from academia and industry to meet and interact with bright and enthusiastic girls from Norfolk and Suffolk to broaden horizons and raise aspirations across the STEMM fields (Science Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine).

'It was a great day and we certainly helped to inspire the next generation of female STEMM professionals!' said Gill Malin, ResNet Chair.
