ResNet organised a Sophrology relaxation session for Women Researchers, held on Thursday 1st July. The technique, developed in France in 1960, is designed to produce a state of deep mental relaxation and a feeling of wellbeing through the use of breathing, movement and visualization. This was followed with an autogenics exercise to further relax the body by engendering feelings of warmth and heaviness in the limbs – as the body relaxes, so your mind will follow. These techniques could be taken away and used for future wellbeing.
