Contracts Finder is a Government portal which allows suppliers to search for information about contracts worth over £10k (excl. VAT). The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR 2015) introduced new legal requirements for advertising on Contracts Finder.
If you advertise a contract opportunity anywhere (newspapers, our website, In-Tend etc.) and the contract is worth over £25k (excl. VAT) then you must place an advert of Contracts Finder;
If you have a contract that is above the EU thresholds (£164k goods and services, £4.1m works excl. VAT) then you must place an advert on Contracts Finder;
A contract award notice for any contract over £25k must be placed on Contracts Finder even if you didn’t openly advertise the opportunity. This excludes framework call-offs.
These are legal requirements.
What does this mean for me?
Legally you must now ensure that you adhere to the requirements for advertising on Contracts Finder. If you have not involved the Procurement Team in your purchase then it is your responsibility to ensure compliance with this requirement.
How do I get my notices on Contracts Finder?
In-Tend the University’s e-tendering portal, is linked to Contracts Finder. You will need to speak to a member of the Procurement Team to get the details uploaded.
What happens if I don’t use Contracts Finder?
The Government has a ‘Mystery Shopper’ they are undertaking checks to ensure that public bodies are complying with PCR 2015. Whilst this is a random sampling exercise, the University does not want to be the public body that is caught out.
Should you require any further details contact a member of the Procurement Team.
