Jointly supervised PhDs (widely known as co-tutelles) offer PhD students the chance to be jointly supervised by UEA and a university in another country, resulting in a dual degree award: a PhD from UEA and a doctorate from the partner university.
The guidance note for co-tutelle arrangements should be consulted before considering a co-tutelle arrangement. This document explains the steps that need to be taken to seek approval for prospective co-tutelle partner and for the agreement of student co-tutelle arrangements.
Please ensure that you seek further guidance regarding the approval process from the Postgraduate Research Service at an early stage in the process.
