The University’s Postgraduate Research Executive has agreed to a phased replacement of the PPD credit requirement with compliance with doctoral training pathway requirements. For more details see our FAQ page.
This provision takes into account national standards including the Roberts ‘SET for Success' report and the expectations of Research Councils UK.
All postgraduate researchers are expected to actively participate in the training programmes specified by their Faculties, Graduate Schools or Institutes. Supervisors are expected to support their postgraduate researchers in developing their personal skills and employability.
The Graduate Schools publish their PPD programmes for the academic year before the start of the autumn semester. The programmes are available to new and continuing postgraduate researchers who can chose sessions - with some exceptions - from any of the Graduate Schools.
- Registered postgraduate researchers can enrol themselves on most PPD modules through their postgraduate researcher pages on eVision.
- Guidance on the self-enrolment process can be found here (PDF - updated Sep-19).
- As well as using the PPD Online Directory, you can also view the full PPD programme through the e:Vision module catalogue (PDF guidance).
In the event of difficulties or if you have questions about PPD modules, please contact the appropriate PGR Service team.
