HESA have launched a major sector initiative to reform the way in which student data is collected from the HE sector, and the form that that data takes. The project is called HEDIIP – the Higher Education Data & Information Improvement Programme. Its principal aims are to:

  • Reform the way in which data is collected
  • Streamline the numbers of returns a university has to make – they have identified over 500 that may potentially be required
  • Improve data accuracy and standards of data governance across the sector

The Finance, Planning and Governance Office is leading on understanding and implementing HEDIIP in close collaboration with other stakeholders within the university and have formed an impact assessment group.
