Step 1: Register Online
Registration is a two stage process that starts online and completes with in-person registration at the start of the academic year.
You can complete the online registration part once you receive your email inviting you to do so. We'll send this to you up to 4 weeks before your course starts.
When you register online you:
- confirm your personal details
- the course you’re taking
- answer some finance questions
- set up your IT password - remember to keep this somewhere safe (you will need it to see your messages)
- read and agree to the University regulations
- upload a photo for your campus card (not applicable to online-only or distance learning students)
You must complete the online registration task before trying to register in-person. It’s also a really good idea to do this quickly as it will enable you to access further information about the university and to prepare for your time here at UEA. We look forward to meeting you at in-person registration.
Step 2: Register In Person
You need to complete your registration by coming in person to see us. More information on when and where in person registration will take place will be available shortly.
Some people wait until the day before they arrive at UEA to complete their online registration – not ideal! There are some excellent reasons to follow the link from your confirmation email as soon as you get it…
Get an email account
Your UEA email account is set up as part of your online registration. You won’t need to access the emails until you arrive though. Before then, we will send any important information to the email address you gave us when you applied.
Choose optional modules
For some courses, students need to select option modules. Check your School induction page to see whether this is the case for your course.
Follow the instructions to choose your options and email your choices to your Hub - the email address is on the New Student Enrolment Form.

Access your online student record
Once you’ve completed your online registration, you can access e:Vision. This is where you can see your student record and other information, like your personal timetable. This is a great time to subscribe to have your timetable set up on your smartphone or tablet calendar. But don’t worry if your timetable doesn’t appear yet. This will be available once we’re closer to the start of the semester. Login to e:Vision using your new UEA username and password at: https://sso.uea.ac.uk/evision
Pay your fees
Paying your tuition fees directly
If you are paying fees yourself, or someone is paying them for you, you need to complete the tuition fee section of the online registration. You can choose to pay by Direct Debit or in full. If you’re paying the fees all at once, you have 28 days from the date of the invoice to make your payment. You can also choose to pay in three instalments. You will get a letter telling you the dates for these payments.
Paying tuition fees with a student loan
If you’re paying by student loan, your fees come directly to the University via the Student Loans Company - you don’t need to complete extra sections on the online registration form.
Join the Students' Union
Once you’ve completed your online registration and got your UEA IT account, you can register with the Students’ Union. That means you can find out about all the events going on in your first week. You can also get details of clubs and societies and get to tickets for welcome week events.
