  • Tuesday 1 October (14:30 to 15:30): Computer orientation, stores and purchasing (JIC Conference Centre G34/35); NBI Facilities Office open to collect NBI access cards from 13:00 to 16:30
  • Wednesday 2 October (9:00 to 16:15): Health & Safety - General Awareness; Learning & Development at NBI; Research Ethics, Integrity & Regulations (Earlham Institute Jane Rogers Seminar Room)
  • Wednesday 2 October (17:00 to 19:00): Welcome event with refreshments, hosted by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (SCVA) on Campus
  • Thursday 3 October (10:00 to 12:00): Working with Animals (for relevant students) and the Quadram Institute Bioscience Seminar (all welcome) - at QIB
  • Friday 4 October (11:00 to 12:00): JIC Friday Seminar (all welcome) in the JIC Conference Centre Auditorium
  • Friday 4 October (14:00 to 17:00) - Rotation Programme students only: Presentations for current Rotation PhD students (JIC Conference Centre G37)
  • Friday 4 October (16:30 to 17:30) - DART MRC iCASE funded students only: DART MRC iCASE student welcome (JIC Conference Centre G36)

EU (European Union), EEA (European Economic Area) and Overseas students arriving during week commencing 23 September are encouraged to visit the Student Visa Compliance Team in the Admissions Office in Lawrence Stenhouse Building (LSB) 1.120 to have Visas and Passports checked.

If you have not had your documents checked before 1 October you must visit the Student Visa Compliance Team in the Lawrence Stenhouse Building (LSB) 1.120 between 9:30 and 10:30 for your visa and passport checks to be done prior to completing registration in the Thomas Paine Study Centre Foyer.

Completion of registration and verification of academic documents, collection of Welcome Packs and Campus Cards and opportunity to meet representatives from a range of information and support services.

Colleagues from IT Support Services will also be available to help set up your mobile devices if needed

Thomas Paine Study Centre Lecture Theatre

Interactive panel sessions on academic related matters, support services and social and engagement opportunities.  A great opportunity to ask any questions you may have, including a session aimed specifically at international students.

From 12:10 Optional tour of campus.
Afternoon opportunity to meet your supervisors (meetings to be arranged in advance) or familiarise yourself with the campus if supervisors unavailable
