Case Study - Non Standard Assessment Files
I have been using Blackboard for summative assessment for several years now. I teach C++ (computer programming language) and as I need to be able to test the students’ programmes to see if and how they run, I have always needed my students to submit digitally.
Using Blackboard for submission means that they can save the file in Visual Studio format as soon as they are happy with it and attach it to the Blackboard submission point.
I can the open the submission and run the file in my own Visual Studio application. Blackboard manages all of the files and I don’t need to think about them until I am ready to mark.
This system works well for me in particular because there are no restrictions on the kinds of files that can be submitted to Blackboard.
