The SITS Student Information System provides support for the administration of the entire student lifecycle.  This is a modular system providing support for:

Registration and enrolment
Teaching, including timetabling
Assessment including Online Submission of Coursework
Award Ceremony (Congregation)
Student Account Management
Room Booking

This system links directly to and interacts with many other systems at UEA including Finance and Accommodation.

The system and the processes or information provided by it have two components: SITS Client and eVision. Students and most members of support staff have access to information via e:Vision through the UEA Portal or the URL eVision.  Access levels are set to protect student data and according to the role being undertaken. Students and staff can also undertake some administrative processes using eVision. Members of administrative staff are given access to SITS Client in order to undertake some administrative processes. In addition, there is a range of management information reports provided via Tableau drawing on data held within SITS. Prior to requesting access to SITS, staff must complete the most current UEA Data Protection training. SITS user records which have long periods of inactivity, for example more than one academic year, will be automatically disabled.  Access can be reactivated by submitting a new access request form.  Please note that the SITS Client will only be available to PCs which have Windows 10 installed.

Staff requiring access to SAM should should complete a SITS User Access form which should be signed off by their line manager and logged to the Student Administrative Systems Team via the IT Service Desk portal

In order to meet the compliance requirements set out within GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) all SITS users must also have Unisys Stealth running on their local machine before they can open the SITS Client. This software will only become available once the SITS User Access Form has been processed and the applicant is notified; for information on how to install and run Unisys Stealth please consult the online guide

In order to request access to e:Vision please contact your school/department e:Vision role group administrator.  A list of administrators can be found in the Access within e:Vision container on your Staff View page by clicking the link List of e:Vision role groups and their administrators.  All staff have a basic level of e:Vision access which will allow them to view the Access within e:Vision container.

The Student Administrative Systems Team, in liaison with the Learning and Teaching Service and Postgraduate Research Service, offer a number of training courses to staff requiring access to Student Records and new administrative processes delivered using the system. Staff should liaise with their managers for further information or to request training. A range of online training materials are also available on the SITS Users Resource Forum Blackboard site.
