If you have a scheduled leaving date please read the following instructions on what to do and what to expect with regards to your Email, OneDrive, Central Filestore and Library Account.

 

What Happens Next?

Student 

You will receive an email 14 days prior to your account being frozen detailing what you need to do. Once the account is frozen (45 days from course end date) you may not use it to access any UEA IT facilities, i.e. networked PCs, eduroam, central filestore, UEA OneDrive, Office 2013 free installed software on personal devices or your email account. 

Staff 

Your computer and email account will be frozen from your contracted end date. Once the account is frozen you may not use it to access any UEA IT facilities, i.e. networked PCs, eduroam, central filestore, UEA OneDrive, Office 2016 free installed software on personal devices or your email account.

 

Returning to Study or Work (within 100 days) 

Once registered for your new course or post, your account will be reactivated (if within 100 days of being frozen) with the same username and email address.

 

Granted an Extension 

If as a student you have been granted an extension, your school will need to update the Student Record System to confirm your new end date.

 

What happens to Email, OneDrive and Central Filestore content? 

Student 

If you wish to take email or other content (such as documents in OneDrive) with you, you need to do this within 14 DAYS from the date of receiving your reminder email – please contact the IT Service Desk for further advice.

Staff 

If you wish to take email or other content (such as documents in OneDrive) with you, you need to do this prior to your contracted end date – please contact the IT Service Desk for further advice.

There will be no automatic bounce reply or ‘I have left UEA’ message added to your email account – please set an 'out of office' message before leaving or contact the IT Service Desk if you require additional support.

Please be aware, the creation of new PST files is now disabled.

 

Library Accounts 

Your Library account will expire at the end of your current course or contract of employment. You should ensure that all items on your borrowing record are returned before that date and that any fines or charges due to the University are paid.

Any reply sent from a non-UEA account must include your old student/staff number e.g. 0364328 or UEA login ID e.g. u0364328, abc06cdu, etc. and surname please.
