The University as a public authority has an obligation to publish certain information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. This includes a register of gifts and hospitality provided to senior staff.  In addition it is good practice to maintain a register of gifts and hospitality provided to all staff.  Information provided on the register will be held for the current year and the preceding three years after which it will be deleted.  The published list will include the member of staff’s name, the gift or hospitality received, the provider of the gift or hospitality (company name) and an estimated value.  Other information will be held in the register but will not be proactively published.  For the purpose of proactive publication the definition of senior staff is members of the Executive Team and Divisional Directors.
