The UEA Almanac is the booklet which sets out the dates of the meetings of the University's Committees and Boards for the forthcoming academic year, including term dates and holiday dates.

List regular events/open lectures/monthly group seminars open to all which may be of interest:

  • MED All Staff Away Day
    Held annually in early September, all staff should attend for a full day of updates, networking, ideas sharing and development.
  • MED School Board
    Held twice a year on a Wednesday afternoon, School Board is responsible for the development of the academic strategy of the School in the areas of learning and teaching, research, and access and admissions within a framework established by Faculty and University strategy. All academic staff are required to attend.
  • FMH Lunchtime Lecture
    Taking place on the fourth Friday of evey month, this series comprises of presentations by research staff members from both MED and HSC on their current research. These lectures are open to all, with light refreshments available at 12:00 before each lecture starts at 12:30pm.
  • PGR Bitesize Lunchtime Seminar Series
    This series is run by PhD students from across the faculty, with a wide range of speakers and topics. Follow their Twitter account @BitesizePhD for up to the minute information - all are welcome to attend.
  • Health Economics Group Seminar
    This monthly group seminar features speakers from the Health Economics Group and is open to all who wish to attend. Information is circulated via the MED Daily Bulletin.
  • NNUH & UEA Joint Research Seminar
    Taking place once a month on a Thursday this series features speakers from both the NNUH and MED giving presentations on their research. Information is circulated via the MED Daily Bulletin.

  • MED Soiree
    The MED Soirée takes place on the first Friday of every month at 5pm in the BCRE Atrium, and is open to all staff and PGR students from across the faculty. 
  • MED-i-Cake
    A monthly coffee morning open to all MED staff, with free tea, coffee and - of course - cake. More information is available on the Athena Swan social events page.
