Waveney Substation LV Panel Replacement

Starting Thursday 9 April, the low voltage panel in the Waveney electrical substation will undergo replacement as part of Estates lifecycle replacement plan to ensure the electrical infrastructure on campus is well-maintained and fit for purpose. We anticipate the works will last 2-3 days.

The Waveney substation serves both a number of residential accommodation buildings and some academic buildings on campus, including:

  • Coleman F
  • Coleman G
  • Orwell
  • Wolfson
  • Nelson Court (including Broadview Lodge)
  • Congregation Hall
  • Drama
  • Dr Bike

Due to the disruption caused from the brief interruption in power as the effected buildings are transferred to a temporary power supply, these works are planned to be undertaken during the Easter closure period for the University 10-14 April inclusive.

The following table outlines some of the key activities. Please note that dates are subject to change.
