Starting Monday 22 June the next phase of works will commence on £7.4 million pound Institute of Productivity project.
The new project will help to educate the next generation of digitally aware engineers and business leaders within modern engineering facilities.
The new regional hub will enable UEA to create a dedicated School of Engineering by 2021 and expand UEA’s role as a regional training provider for local businesses
Productivity East will have workshops dedicated to advanced robotics, a 3D printing studio, a digital design lab and a shared studio space.
The main phase of work includes the internal refurbishment of the Biology annex as well as exterior alterations to the building. This will include a new external entrance for the annex, an external canopy above the entrance and surrounding landscaping.
With the first phase of works already completed, the main phase of works will now take place from June through to December 2020.
Access to Bio Atrium
Due to ongoing construction activity, access into the BIO atrium from the Biology annex corridor entrance will be restricted. As part of the one-way system – implemented in accordance with social distancing measures - the nearest access point to the BIO Atrium will be the SCVA/BIO Loading bay entrance on floor 02.
Egress from the BIO Atrium will still be possible via the main automatic doors. The site plan found here outlines access restrictions.
