Lasdun Teaching Wall: Heritage Assessment
As a pre-empt to the major refurbishment of the Lasdun Teaching Wall a Detailed Heritage Assessment is required to be carried out within the Arts, Chemistry, Sciences and Biology buildings.
The Detailed Heritage Assessment will be completed by Purcell on behalf of the UEA Estates and Facilities Division andwill take place between Monday 1st April and Friday 12th April 2019.
This document will be used to inform Norwich City Planning, Heritage England, 20th Century Society and others during the process of gaining approvals for the major refurbishment works to be undertaken in the coming years.
The assessment involves accessing all rooms within the Lasdun Wall to complete a visual survey and noting any modification works that may have been undertaken since the building was constructed.
Estates will provide Purcell with means of access to some areas (offices, example) while Estates are working with the faculties of Chemistry, Science and Biology to ensure safe and supervised acces to lab and preparation areas.
