INTO Refurbishment Works
Starting Monday 3 February, a programme of internal and external refurbishment works will commence at the INTO UEA building. It is anticipated that works will take approximately nine months to complete.
These works, which include internal refurbishment of some student bedrooms within the INTO building, will be undertaken during core University hours and involve some Saturday working. It is expected that there will be intermittent noise disruption throughout the project.
The RG Carter contractor compound will be located in front of the UEA Health and Community Centre building. Deliveries to the compound will be made before 07:30 and banksmen will be in position at the compound entrance.
The existing Nursery drop-off and INTO/Doctor parking areas will remain accessible while works are undertaken but the taxi drop-off/pick -up point from INTO will be moved to University Drive (as indicated by the hashed area in the traffic management plan).
The Blackdale access road in front of the INTO building will be kept open to allow continued cycle and pedestrian access to Cow Drive and Bluebell Road. It is anticipated that Cow Drive will re-open in March 2020.
As part of the works, the accessible (orange line) route in front of the INTO building will be re-routed to the accessible path between the Main Car Park and the INTO building.
Please note that this work is undertaken by RG Carter on behalf of INTO. For any queries or concerns please contact Estates Listening2U.
