Footpath Improvements to Chancellor's Drive
Update: The phase of improvements outside the Hubert Lamb Building has begun, which will involve intermittent drilling to break concrete. While these works are scheduled to wrap up on January 13th, it is expected that they will over-run slightly and so noise disruption may still be taking place into the middle of the first week of the Spring semester. For the duration of the works the pathway underneath the Hubert Lamb building will be blocked off, and access to the ground level entrance to the building will only be available by approaching from the ZICER building.
Additional improvements are also taking place further along the Chancellor's Drive pedestrian footpath on the other side of the ZICER, however these are not expected to cause any access or noise disruption issues.
Original story: Starting December improvements to the pedestrian footpath on the Lasdun Wall side of Chancellor's Drive will be undertaken.
This is to widen the pedestrian footpath by the Climatic Research Unit (Hubert Lamb Building) and ZICER buildings.
This will ensure pathways are fit for purpose and account for the additional foot traffic along Chancellor's Drive due to the opening of Building 60.
As part of these works no trees will be removed however there will be intermittent noise disruption as concrete is broken out.
We anticipate work to be complete within 3 weeks.
