The Institute of Productivity
Starting Tuesday 27th October works will commence on £7.4 million pound Institute of Productivity.
The Institute of Productivity will help to educate the next generation of digitally aware engineers and business leaders within modern engineering facilities.
The new regional hub will enable UEA to create a dedicated School of Engineering by 2021 and expand UEA’s role as a regional training provider for local businesses.
The Institute of Productivity will have workshops dedicated to advanced robotics, a 3D printing studio, a digital design lab and a shared studio space.
The first phase of works will comprise internal enabling works to existing spaces within the Biology building to deliver the new regional hub for engineering, technology and management.
Internal enabling works will run for a 20 week period with a targeted completion date of Tuesday 24th March 2020.
The second and main phase of works, which include exterior alterations to the Biology annex that will house the Institute of Productivity, will commence Thursday 4th June with a targeted completion of Wednesday 21st October. This will replace the single black door entrance near the BIO café atrium.
It is anticipated that the Institute of Productivity will be complete and occupied by Wednesday 16th December.
