Four storey Integrated Teaching and Laboratory to be built on the site of the old Chancellors' Drive Annexe. Construction is due to start on 2 January 2018 and becoming operational by September 2019. The district heating main will be extended to the new building either over ground or via a trench in the road.
Approximately 20 parking spaces outside the Julian Study Centre will be temporary taken out of service. Access and exit to West car park to be finalised. Traffic will be managed on and off campus. there will be periods of disruptive noise during construction. Designs are being finalised.
On target for July 2019 completion and open to students September 2019. How to access site yet to be determined as it is a construction site with subsequent noise, traffic etc.
The Consultant team has been appointed for the final phase of the overall project which includes the landscaping of the courtyard, repairs to the smaller outbuildings and provision of cycling rack, development includes a single Storey extension to accommodate 10 new members of staff and the Law Clinic.
The project aims to commence February 19th 2018 and complete by September 14th 2018. Planning & listed building application to Norwich City Council submitted 29th September 2017. Cost and Programme on track.
Works are planned to the ventilation systems in Congregation Hall for Summer 2018, which will require the full closure of building. Construction works 18/06/2018 to 14/09/2018. Cost and Programme on track.
A review of existing & future catering services to be undertaken. This will have an impact on the improvements to the steps between Waterstones and the Restaurant Building although structural problems with the steps will need to be resolved.
