University Drive roadworks

In order to install connections to the district heating system as part of the essential infrastructure works on campus, University Drive will be closed from Monday 8 June for a period of approximately 20 days.

From Monday 8 June, the closure will be in effect from between the Security Lodge and the Main Car Park entrance of University Drive to enable trenching across both carriageways.

We anticipate that the road closure will last approximately 20 days with a targeted completion date of 30 June.

For vehicular access to the main campus including Main Car Park please use the Bluebell Road entrance to the campus for the duration of works.

For vehicular access to Earlham Hall, The Enterprise Centre and the Sportspark please use the Earlham Road entrance to the campus.

There will be pedestrian access from the Main Car Park to the Sportspark, The Enterprise Centre and Earlham Hall for duration of works.

From Monday 27 April, contractors RG Carter returned to the UEA site to resume the essential infrastructure project.

Contractors who are working on behalf of the UEA to undertake works on the UEA campus are operating in strict accordance with Site Operating Procedures which were published by the Construction Leadership Council in April 2020.

The Site Operating Procedures align with the latest guidance from Public Health England in respect to social distancing, travelling to and from site and site welfare. UEA has in in place effective arrangements for monitoring and reviewing their compliance with Government and industry guidance.

Contractors will continue to operate at UEA within the guidelines whilst they have availability of workers and if the Government guidelines remain the same. In the event of the guidelines changing the situation will be reviewed with immediate effect.
