Cow Drive closed due to construction activity
COMMENCING 02 DECEMBER – 16 MARCH
As part of phase 3 of the essential infrastructure works Cow Drive will be closed due to construction activity.
Advance signage will be in place from Monday 25 November.
Signage will be in place to route cyclists from Cow Drive via the INTO building onto University Drive.
The pedestrian footpath from Cow Drive between the INTO building and BIOMASS will remain accessible.
This phase of works will involve trenching on the University Drive pathway behind the Security Lodge opposite the Sportspark and the creation of a contractor compound.
With the closure of the University Drive pathway at the Security Lodge, pedestrians will be diverted via the crossing opposite Sportspark (the zebra crossing will be replaced with a pelican crossing to enable flow of traffic on University Drive).
This will mean pedestrians will be routed via the pathway between Cow Drive and the Registry at the edge of the Main Car Park. There will be no access to the cycle parking behind the Security Lodge.
Trenching will also begin on the Estates boiler house roof as well as trenching across the Chancellors Drive zebra crossing towards the existing Founders Green cycle parking.
This will mean the Chancellors Drive zebra crossing will not be in use and a temporary crossing will be in place to enable pedestrian access to the Security Lodge.
National Express bus services will continue to pick up on Chancellor's Drive and First Bus services will also continue.
Please note: the diversions to pedestrians and cycle routes during this phase are likely to last the duration of the essential infrastructure works (including Chancellors Drive roadworks).
