UEA and its bio-diverse landscape and environment mean it is inevitable that sometimes campus users will come across unwanted pests and creatures cohabiting in the environment that we live in.
A specialist pest control service is provided by our highly trained Grounds Team, with expertise in dealing with many varieties of pests using the safest and most effective methods.
During the autumn and winter months our Grounds team are hard at work clearing leaves where they might cause a slip hazard to staff, students and visitors at like.
Fallen leaves can conceal or trap litter, adversely affecting biodiversity and soft landscape fixtures. To reduce excessive noise when clearing leaves we have replaced our petrol leaf blowers with electric.
Our grounds team remove 20-30 tonnes of leaves from our Campus each year but where possible we allow our leaves to degrade organically. Our team also carry out the majority of their tree inspections during the autumn and winter months.
If you spot any build up of leaves which could become a slip hazard please report any build up of leaves to the Estates Helpdesk.
The Facilities Support Office is staffed 8:30AM- 16:30PM Monday to Friday.
During Winter Hours, our Grounds Maintenance Team provide core services on campus between Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 15:15PM.
Certain services are also provided outside of these hours by special arrangement.
Snow and ice clearance is carried out between 5:00AM and 21:00PM as required between November and March.
