The University of East Anglia (UEA) has undergone great changes in recent years in terms of its student and staff profile. It has the same range of diversity as demonstrated in the urban British Universities, such as Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield and, although numbers within particular groups may be comparatively low, each year sees growth and change.

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) completed in 2014, with Equality Impact Assessments produced during and as part of the final selection process. UEA's impact assessment was agreed as part of its action plan within its REF Code of Practice
