The Aurora programme was launched in November 2013 by Advance HE (formerly the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education). This women-only programme is available to both academics and professional support staff, up to senior lecturer level or professional equivalent, who feel they would benefit from a career development programme which addresses some of the aspects of professional success which can be particularly challenging for women.
Who is this programme for?
Aurora is for those who identify as women, up to senior lecturer level or the professional services equivalent, who would like to develop and explore issues relating to leadership roles and responsibilities. The programme has been introduced to help address the under-representation of women in senior posts in Higher Education, and aims to develop potential and build confidence, whilst providing a positive experience of leadership. Participants should have the endorsement of their line manager and be committed to developing and enhancing their career.
