About the day

Come and join us for UEA Learning and Teaching Day 2018 on Thursday 17 May.

The theme for this year’s Day is Show & Tell, with the whole event orientated towards sharing the intriguing and innovative practice which we know is going on all over our campus and at our partner institutions. With this in mind, your inputs are invited!

We have an exciting new format this year to allow for the greatest variety of content to be included. We have done away with extended presentations, poster presentations and thematic strands. Instead, we are inviting you to simply either show or tell us something about your teaching practice. The emphasis is on sharing your ideas and inspiring others to 'do different' in classrooms across campus and beyond.

Show will consist of practical demonstrations in the TPSC Foyer (e.g. teaching software, props and equipment). As an example of the kind of thing you can ‘show’, colleagues from paramedic science will be demonstrating how anatomical dummies are used in teaching. Short video and photographic exhibitions are also welcomed.

Tell will consist of a series of talks of no longer than 15 minutes which share aspects of your teaching practice.  Talks should be succinct and designed to give food for thought.

Inputs showcasing practice are welcome from all UEA and partner institution staff members and postgraduate researchers. We are interested to share work from across the University and further, and hope that central services colleagues, as well as academic teaching staff, will contribute to the Day. Contributions should focus on learning and teaching or supporting learning and teaching.

When submitting a proposal indicate if you would like to show in the foyer, or tell at one of the presented sessions. Submission deadline now extended to 31 January 2018.
