The overall programme is designed to provide a range of courses to meet the needs of full-time, part-time, permanent and temporary staff from all groups within the University, though within the programme some sessions are more relevant for a particular group, in which case this is indicated. Some sessions are also available to those who are not UEA staff, as detailed below. When you have made the booking please note the details in your diary. We will tell you by email or telephone whether or not you have a place and will send a reminder two weeks before the event. If the course is full your name will be put on a reserve list and you will be notified.
Unless stated otherwise, all UEA staff may apply to attend any course. We define UEA staff as being those who are paid through the UEA payroll. For staff in this category there is no charge for the great majority of courses and events. Some courses are open only to a particular sub-set of staff, and available to others in particular circumstances by negotiation. For example the MA in Higher Education Practice is normally only open to members of UEA academic staff on probation, and the Appraisal Training Course is only open to appraisers within the UEA appraisal scheme.
UEA Research Postgraduates
Research postgraduates, including those registered with UEA but based at the Research Park, are welcome to attend CSED courses at no charge to themselves. The cost of such training will be recovered from the School or Faculty and so must be agreed beforehand.
NBI Staff (IT Training)
Those employed by the NBI may attend most IT training courses at no charge to themselves but will require prior permission from their manager or Head of Unit. NBI staff attendance on CSED's IT courses must be authorised by Lauren Reader (née Hunt-Savin), Learning & Development Advisor - email@example.com If in doubt please phone UEA ext 3849 for information.
Staff From Affiliated Institutes and Partner Institutions
Staff from Affiliated Institutes and Partner Institutions are welcome to attend the majority of the courses offered in our programme. For details of fees and access contact Kate Faire ext 3039 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
