Pablo is the Module Organiser for ‘Developing Teaching Skills’ (DTS) – a stand-alone Masters module for Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (and Lecturers wanting to enhance their pedagogic practice) – and contributes to the Masters in Higher Education Practice (MAHEP). Alongside his part-time post with CSED, Pablo is a Learning Enhancement Tutor with the Student Support Service and coordinates the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) scheme.
Before joining the CSED academic practice team in August 2017, Pablo worked for over 20 years in various educational capacities and contexts - both in the UK and abroad - including as an Associate Tutor, Guest Lecturer, Mentor, and Outreach Educator while studying part-time at the UEA since 2007. He has a particular interest in transformative pedagogy and creative, experiential, participatory-democratic approaches to teaching and learning.
Pablo graduated with a BA in Fine Art from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has an MA in Education and Development, and an MRes in Research Methods, from the UEA. His Ph.D. thesis focuses on the function of social power relations in the context of an education programme in South America. Pablo has a qualification (CELTA) in teaching English as a foreign language and a range of experiences working with students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
