ACCELERATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROMISING IDEAS AND INVENTIONS WHICH MAY HAVE COMMERCIAL POTENTIAL
The University Innovation Proof of Concept (PoC) Fund aims to increase the likelihood of a successful commercial outcome for ideas and innovations generated by UEA’s academic community. It is a HEIF supported award that UEA staff can apply for in order to accelerate the development of promising ideas and inventions which may have commercial potential. Examples of what the award might be used for include technical feasibility studies, prototype development and commissioning market assessments. Smaller awards that had previously been made from the Proof of Concept Fund are now covered by the Associate Deans for Innovation and Engagement Funds.
University Innovation Proof of Concept applications are reviewed by the Innovation Executive and applications are to be submitted to RIN in good time before the Innovation Executive meetings to allow for preparation. Please see below table for the 2017-18 deadlines.
