We need lots of students to work across campus on our Open Days. Every role is vital and has a key part to play in making our Open Days brilliant.
Read through the categories below to think about your ideal role. Remember you're not always allocated to your preferred choice due to role availability.
You will need to rank these roles in order of preference on the form.
Meet and Greet
If you're friendly and outgoing and enjoy helping people, this is the category for you. This role involves coordinating visitors and you could be based in the car park, lecture theatres or in the registration/information zone.
Logistics guides play a key part in ensuring the Open Day runs smoothly. You will either be based behind the scenes, helping us make sure we have enough equipment (for example), or you will be based in a location, coordinating the movement of visitors between talk locations and hubs. Roles include Pack Down Assistants, Open Day Assistants, Info Zone Guides and Location Guides.
People who love talking to large groups of people and are confident leading would suit this category. Click on the options below to read more about the various tour roles.
Leading groups of approx.15 people around campus, not including accommodation, for around 30 minutes.
Leading groups of approx. 20 people to accommodation and showing them round the flats, for 30 minutes.
Leading groups of approx. 15 people to the Village accommodation and showing them round the flats, for 30 minutes.
Based at the Sportspark, taking visitors on a guided tour of the facilities. Students who use the Sportspark frequently/ studying PE would be the best at leading these tours.
Based at the Library, taking visitors on a guided tour of the facilities. Students who are confident with the layout of the library would be the best at leading these tours.
Norwich Bus Tours
The student leading the Norwich Bus Tours needs to be familiar with the city and the surrounding areas. You will be based on the bus, provided with a tour script and will need to be confident enough to speak in front of a bus full of 50 people.
Info Hub Guides
You will either be based in accommodation or under a gazebo and this will be decided when you sign in.
Accommodation guides need to be knowledgeable about the different types of flats on campus, happy to be based in the accommodation and show people around when they arrive.
Gazebo guides will be based at one of our Info Point gazebos around campus. You will be answering visitors queries, taking visitors to various locations and supporting the Open Day overall.
If you're passionate about your subject and enjoy talking to visitors about your course, this is your ideal role.
You will be based in your school area, coordinating people and directing them to and from talks/demos and answering questions about your subject of study. You may also need to help set up areas and pack down.
