The work involved
Applicant Days usually take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Nov-April. You would be required to work from 08:45-15:45.
The aim of the event is to give potential students a full experience of the university and this is where you come in! The roles you would be doing on the day would be:
- Campus and Accommodation Tours
- School Guides
- Meet and Greet
- Library Tours
- Sportspark Tours
- Accommodation Points
- Costessey Park and Ride
You will be required to attend the full length of a compulsory, unpaid training session before you can work on Applicant Days. Training will include compulsory full campus tour training.
Even if you've already worked on Open Days, you will need to attend this session.

To be able to work, you need to complete a Register for Student Worker Form, a Registration Agreement (if you don't already have a contract) and the Student Guide Scheme Guidance Note and Agreement.
You will also need to bring your bank details (so we can pay you) and one of the following types of ID to us to fill in a Register for Student Workers. We have to see the original documents and cannot accept photocopies.
1) In date passport with current VISA or biometric card if applicable
2) UK nationals can bring A4 birth certificate (not the A5 version) with proof of your National Insurance number (which can be found on the NI card, payslip, P45, P60 and letter from HMRC).
