There are two main areas of focus within the Marketing Team:
Central Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing campaigns and projects for the University as a whole. They lead on a variety of areas, including raising our profile on social media, the analysis and planning of UEA's online presence, the visibility of the University's research and enterprise output across the world, and customer relationship management.
Faculties have dedicated marketing managers and officers focused on promoting UEA and supporting marketing activities for specific faculties and groups, responding to the needs of schools throughout the academic cycle.
Chris works closely with the Head of Strategic Marketing to develop strategy and plans related to reputation and recruitment activity.
He manages faculty and research facing roles to deliver compelling and engaging marketing activity, raising the profile of UEA with prospective students, alongside specific recruitment campaigns that encourage further action and engagement with the university.
Chris has over 15 year experience in commercial Marketing, working for established brands such as BSM, RAC, Aviva, TSO and HPI Data Checks. Highlights include giving away a Porsche Boxster, raising several thousand pounds for road Safety charity Brake, and working on creative & engagement initiatives for BSM’s sponsorship of E4 drama Skins.

Holly and Chris work closely with the Head of Strategic Marketing to develop all planned marketing engagement activity. Holly manages the Publications & Brand, CRM and Digital teams, ensuring all key marketing campaigns that utilise UEAs owned corporate channels (printed collateral, UEA website, social media channels and email broadcasting) are delivered to the highest standard achieving the best level of engagement and impact.
Holly has extensive experience developing educational engagement activity with a focus around STEM subjects both on and offline, with past clients including Specsavers, Whitbread Plc, Anglian Water, Unilever, ICAEW and RICS.

Cerian is responsible for helping raise the profile of UEA research, communicating its impact on the world. She started her career marketing for a music charity before moving to a research and enterprise marketing role at UEA. In her current role, Cerian delivers content-led marketing strategies to promote audience engagement with the interesting and inspiring research stories at UEA.

Kate job shares with Cerian Hutchings. She is responsible for managing the Postgraduate Research Recruitment Campaign and helping raise the profile of UEA research, communicating its impact on the world. Kate joined UEA in 2011 after working in website management and development, and online and international marketing in the construction and FMCG sectors. In her current role, Kate delivers content led marketing strategies to promote audience engagement with the interesting and inspiring research and student stories at UEA.

Lydia is responsible for supporting the creation and implementation of UEA’s marketing and recruitment strategies on both a faculty and brand level. Working across undergraduate and postgraduate projects, Lydia produces and implements content and campaigns across a variety of media including web, print, events and direct marketing. A Business Management and Marketing graduate, Lydia gained extensive marketing experience in both the home improvement and FMCG sectors prior to joining UEA in 2017.

James joined UEA in 2011 and is responsible for planning and delivering a proactive marketing strategy for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Having previously worked at Bath Spa University, University of the West of England and Norwich University of the Arts he has a wide range of H.E. marketing experience and has been awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing by The Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Diploma in Leadership and Management by the ILM.

James manages the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) plans and the email communications that UEA sends out across undergraduate and postgraduate audiences. James joined UEA in 2011 as a student on the BSc Business Management course and graduated in 2014. Outside of work James plays Guitar and Ukulele in various bands and co-manages a local music festival.

Neil supports ARM with video and photography for case studies, events and campaigns for the ARM Plan. He joined UEA in Jan 2017 from a PR role at the Ministry of Defence having been photographer with the Royal Navy and a national newspaper.

Working solely with the Outreach team, Shulla’s role covers all areas of marketing: overall management of marketing presence, including strategy and all printed collateral, CRM planning and implementation and digital management, including webpages and social media. Having worked in marketing since graduating in 2010, Shulla joined the team from local marketing agency Creative Sponge. Most recently she was an Account Manager implementing on and offline campaigns for a vast array of clients.

Angela was awarded Chartered Marketer status in 2008 and has over 20 years’ experience working within the Higher Education sector, working in Schools of Study and within centralised departments for Admissions, Recruitment and Marketing.

Laura has worked at UEA since 2009 in marketing roles covering Research and Enterprise, the Graduate Internship programme, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Arts and Humanities. Prior to this she was awarded the Professional Diploma in Marketing by The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
