The dispute between the University & College Union (UCU) and Universities UK (UUK) centres on proposed changes to the USS pension scheme and pay, casualization, equality and workloads.
UCU members voted by a clear majority to accept a UUK proposal to establish a Joint Expert Panel (JEP) to review pension provision. This move meant that industrial action was suspended in 2019.
