Web Application FAQ Web Application FAQ

Almost all general problems can be solved by closing down all windows of your web browser, clearing the cache of your browser, then restarting the process. The direct link to the application form is www.room.uea.ac.uk.

The web application system works on a web language called JavaScript, meaning that the 'Back' button on your browser will not work during the application process. If you need to go back, please use the 'Back' buttons provided on the form, not on your web browser.

What is my UEA Application number?

UEA allocates a unique application number to each prospective student. When you begin studying at UEA it will be referred to as your Student Number.

You can find your Student Number on correspondence from UEA, for example your course offer letter.

I have received the message "We are sorry but we haven’t been able to find your application number".

If you have an application number then it is possible that you may have made a mistake when entering your details, if so please try again. Please make sure you enter your details accurately and in the correct format.

If this error still occurs, it may be possible that you haven’t confirmed your offer of a place at the university.

You can only complete an application if you have accepted your offer or chosen UEA as your ‘firm’ or ‘insurance’ choice.  Once you have chosen UEA as ‘firm’ or ‘insurance’ on UCAS Track you should be able to access the application form with your UEA application number.

I haven't received my validation email, where is it?

Please check the junk mail folder of your e-mail account. We advise against using Microsoft-based services (Hotmail, Live, MSN) as their spam filters occasionally identify our emails as junk.

If you still cannot find it, you can simply re-register with a different address and wait for the email again. The system does not 'remember' you unless you click the link contained in the validation email.

I want to choose a particular residence, but it doesn't appear on my form – what do I do?

The options on the application forms refer to a room type, and not necessarily to a particular Residence. The main option affected is the En Suite Campus room option, which groups together all of the en suite residences on campus (for example, Nelson Court, Constable Terrace, Colman House), and it's not possible to apply for one particular residence within this option. All of the en suite residences provide similar facilities and are located within a few minutes' walk from each other.

How do I know if my application has been sent?

Once you have sent the form your web browser will display a message that confirmation has been sent to your email address. Please make sure that you have received this confirmation email.

You can check your application has been submitted by following these steps:

1. Close all windows of your web browser.
2. Open a new window of your web browser and visit www.room.uea.ac.uk.
3. Log in with your details.

The screen will display a message confirming the date of your application allowing you to review your preferences.
