Although we do not guarantee accommodation for returning students, each year we have a quota of rooms available for full-time students who declare special circumstances which necessitate UEA accommodation.
For the 2018-19 academic year, we will accommodate 50 students in this category.
You will only be offered accommodation from the quota if you have provided evidence of your special circumstances either to the Student Support Service (SSS) or the Accommodation Office. If you have a disability or medical condition, this should already be documented, and you will not need to supply evidence again. If you have a welfare issue which you believe qualifies you to be considered for UEA accommodation, you should already have engaged with SSS, and be able to supply the name of someone in SSS who will support your application.
The evidence to support your accommodation application should be from a UK medical professional or Student Support staff member, and should specifically state that it is a recommendation for you to be allocated UEA accommodation because of your circumstances.
The deadline for accommodation applications from non-guaranteed students declaring special circumstances is Friday 16th March 2018.
You should note that you are not guaranteed UEA accommodation. If you do not apply before the deadline or do not provide sufficient evidence, it is very unlikely that we will be able to offer you accommodation from the quota for the 2018-19 academic year.
We aim to let you know the outcome of your application by Monday 16th April 2018.
This is the only way to make an application in this category – an application made using the standard online accommodation application form will not be considered eligible for accommodation from the quota.
If you have any queries about this process, please contact the Accommodation Office as soon as possible (email: firstname.lastname@example.org; phone: 01603 592092).
